Unexpected Blessings.

Be careful what you pray for.... I prayed that Pete would be out of pain and that we would be able to find a way to get him the help he needs.

We got to the emergency room yesterday and finally got the tests that he needed because it was an emergency. They did bloodwork, a CT, and an MRI. The blocked ventricle had gotten worse, The largest cyst had tripled in size. The neuro resident was amazed he hasn't seized yet.

I believe more than ever the Lord looks out for us. This happened in such a way as he didn't get to worse case before it was considered an emergency, but enough so that they want to operate today without worrying about the financial concerns up front. I am having a mixed reaction, but I know that this is probably the best way things could have happened.

I don't know when he is going into surgery but they have him in the Neuro Critical Care Unit at University Hospital. So they are keeping a pretty close eye on him and I have been able to stay with him. I am loving the fact I can get wifi to keep connected to the outside world.

 So Pete showed me one of my old posts and reminded me that this blog is here. I have been feeling like I need to blog again, but I have been trying to decide what kind of blog I want to do. Update on life...

I guess it is September and you are all due an update, whoever you all are. Started my new job the last week of August so I have been going two weeks. Working four ten hour shifts starting at ten in the morning, Monday thru Thursday. It is amazing how tired you can get sitting in front of a radio waiting for something to happen. I have been getting better at hearing the things I need to and responding as necessary. I never knew dispatching was so complicated. It also gives me a different outlook on things. I see news stories about shootings of police officers and I think about how hard that was for the dispatcher to hear that and stay in control. However, I do think that this will be a good job for me and I hope the improvement continues. I think this is something I really want and didn't even know it. I am just glad Pete knows me and encouraged me to apply back in April. Still waiting on my insurance cards to show up. Because of the new job I had to put the boys in daycare.
